This project involved the sensitive restoration of a victorian end of terrace house which was a former home of James Joyce but had been divided into eight bedsit apartments and was in a considerable state of disrepair. The original victorian elements were captured & restored with absolute authenticity. New spaces were created to the rear both on the ground & vertical planes, & were expressed with simplicity & clarity.
