This Edwardian Terrace in Rathgar required an uprade and transformation into a living environment capable of catering for contemporary family life. The brief was to transform, refurbish and extend the main building volume into a formal living and sleeping zone while creating a series of new spaces to allow for family living. What evolved was a box of glass, zinc and timber which accommodated the kitchen & demi-dining space at existing floor level. This 4m high glass volume would serve as a habitable garden room borrowing from the surrounding lush greenery of the adjoining gardens.
